Congratulations to the U31 Open Team who won gold at the 2026 Asia Pacific Youth Bridge Championships!

Singapore’s U31 Open (under 31) team won the Xiao Jiang Cup at the Asia Pacific Bridge Federation Youth Championships, held in Hainan, China, from 23 to 28 September 2026. The winning team comprises Teo Xue Heng, Ryan Lee, Timothy Wu, Linus Lee, Junyan Yang and Gao Heng.

The team finished first in the round robin before defeating Indonesia 268–163.67 in the final. The victory earned Singapore a berth in the 2027 World Youth Team Championships.

Singapore also performed well in two other events. The U26 Women’s team, comprising Jeanne Yeo, Ang Ke Xin, Gao Tianlu, Jenell Lim, Beverly Seah and Steffi Anna Lim, finished fourth. The U26 Open team, comprising Xu Nuoyi, Li Ruiqi, Victor Loh, Wang Yingqi, Ai Yucheng and Goh Zhijie, also finished fourth. Like the U31 Open team, both teams also earned berths in next year’s World Youth Team Championships.

This was also the first time Singapore fielded a team in all five championship categories: U16 Open, U21 Open, U26 Women, U26 Open and U31 Open. Singapore’s inaugural U16 entry is a milestone for youth Bridge. In the past, many players first encountered the sport at pre-university level, around age 17. The U16 team shows that secondary school students can begin learning Bridge earlier, developing their reasoning, communication and teamwork through a structured mind sport.
