The Singapore Contract Bridge Association (SCBA) welcomes the passage of the amendments to the Singapore Sports Council Act, which formally recognise mind sports, including Bridge, as part of Singapore’s sporting landscape.

This recognition affirms that sport encompasses not only physical ability, but also excellence, discipline, teamwork, and mental resilience - values that are central to Bridge as a mind sport. Bridge develops strategic thinking, concentration, and communication skills, while supporting lifelong participation and community bonding across generations.

SCBA is encouraged by our government’s calibrated and forward-looking approach. We look forward to closer collaboration with SportSG, the Singapore National Olympic Council, the Ministry of Education, and partners across the educational ecosystem to further develop youth pathways, school participation, and inclusive community programmes.
